Good morning, friends! Today’s blog post is a formal announcement sharing information about the new studio that is available as of May 2019! Here’s everything you need to know about the new office space!

Centrally Located inside the 610 Loop

I am absolutely thrilled to share information about the new location for Sarah Borchgrevink Photography! As a professional portrait artist, I am moving my office and work space to a central area in Houston called Uptown. This is located off San Felipe and 610.

Dream Photography Studio | Floor Plan Overview

Below is a floor plan attached of the new space and the plans that are currently in place. The studio space is a 1,300 square foot office located inside of a commercial office building. The space is being fully renovated and remodeled to fit my timeless, classic, and vintage-inspired style of photography. This space is a complete dream and everything a professional baby photographer could ever want!

The studio is ideally located in the prestigious Post Oak Park near the Galleria, Williams Tower, Greenway Plaza, Texas Medical Center, Museum District, West University, Rice Village, Downtown Houston, Montrose, Upper Kirby, and the Heights.

Studio features:

Inside the studio you will find the perfect floor plan for amazing baby photography and a wonderful experience for new parents. The studio features the following:

• A lobby and reception area so parents have a comfortable place to wait. There are also snacks, of course, and a coffee bar. Inside this lobby area you’ll also find a playroom for young children to hang out in whilst their sibling is being photographed.

• The mothers lounge is designed for the comfort of new mothers. This is a nursing, feeding, or resting room so you may feed your baby, in comfort and peace, before and after your session. I do have four young children myself and recognize that feeding Baby is a huge part of your day. This mothers room will allow you to relax and to leave your session so Baby has a full tummy for the car ride home.

• The prop room has anything you could ever want for accessories! Inside my prop room, which is labeled storage, you will find a huge array of props, perfectly organized. Here is where I will keep my hundreds of props such as buckets, bowls, baskets, wooden bowls, newborn antique beds, hats, bonnets, headbands, wraps, textiles, backdrops, and more!

• The all white lifestyle room for family, child, or maternity sessions. This room is going to feature a big white bed, white couch, and have beautiful flooring, crown molding, and floor to ceiling light to make for the dreamiest of sessions. This can be used for little sitter sessions, baby milestones, and even family photos during your newborn session. This room will focus on capturing families naturally and with connections.

• The posed newborn room featuring backdrops, three custom wood walls, and comfortable seating for you during your time in studio. This room is about 500 square feet, within itself, and will have the same look at my current studio. This means I’ll be keeping the three rustic wood walls my husband, Kevin, designed for me as well as all of the seamless paper backdrops. Everything will be set up in advance for your session for a seamless experience.

Amenities:

The building has monitored security, ample surface parking plus controlled access to garage covered parking, as well as a deli downstairs.

Online Booking Available

A new feature that has recently been implemented is online booking for your sessions. This is how you seamlessly sign your contract, pay your deposit, and then select your session date & time from a calendar. This is designed for busy parents who like simplicity. Baby Boy Laksh | 7 days new & 6 pounds of newborn goodness

Good morning to you, friends! Today's blog post is full of so much sweetness my heart could probably burst. I'd like to begin by welcoming you to my little 'ol blog. Here is where I showcase precious, squishy babies, radiant baby bumps and adorable families. My studio is where most of my sessions take place, since I specialize in newborn portraiture, however, I do offer on location, natural light sessions, too! I like to think it's the best of both worlds. 

This adorable family contacted me to book their newborn collection when baby was just a few days old. I was happy to offer them three dates. While most parents book in the second trimester, I sometimes have last minute openings and welcome all inquiries even if baby is already earth side. Newborn sessions do take place in the first two weeks of life, give or take a few days, and so it's important to contact me as early as possible.

Baby Boy Laksh was 6 pounds when he visited my studio. He slept beautifully for me and his parents did a fantastic job prepping him! Mom is absolutely gorgeous and motherhood looks amazing on her! 

When working with you, I like to think of your baby as the focal point. I always wrap your little one for family portraits, which take place right at the beginning of your session. I have taken workshops on both newborn safety and posing to ensure baby is well cared for during our session. I also use professional lighting and camera gear so you're sure to have the very best.

Most portraits are shot elbow up to ensure baby is the focus of your image. I give plenty of direction and pose baby so you feel secure. I also make sure I do not walk away until you have baby snuggled in your arms. 

Most of your photos are lifestyle in nature, meaning they're more about iterating together as a family, however, I often include 1-2 images where everyone is smiling and looking at the camera because grandparents like this set up. It's nice to gift some prints to your parents, too!

Parent/Family Portion (Sibling included if you have another child)

Once you arrive, we immediately feed baby and go into the session. I will guide you and give you plenty of direction. I have a very hands on approach to newborn photography and am comfortable leading the session so you know exactly what to expect.

Each collection comes with a flokati rug set up. Here is where we do the potato pose. Baby's love this and being wrapped keeps them so happy! Wrapping is a huge part of my newborn style and I urge to ensure this is a good fit for your aestetic preferences.

First Floor Prop: White Classic Bowl

My studio is filled to the brim with classic floor props. I generally find these at antique stores. They lend a vintage tone to your session and ensure the final result is timeless.

Tootise wrap is the third style of wrapping you'll see in my sessions.

MACRO IMAGES | UP CLOSE + SUPER SWEET DETAILS

The macro portion is always lovely because these up close details are the characteristics that are unique to your baby. These can be lips, nose, ears, toes, hands, etc.

BEAN BAG POSING 

The bean bag portion are the naked, squishy poses you may be familiar with. Each baby likes to be posed differently, however, the following images are the main poses I do with each baby. 

Booking Your Session

A $100 non-refundable retainer and contract secure your appointment on the calendar. These are due immediately. The retainer is applied to any collection of your choice.  Payment plans are available upon request. Your final balance is due the day before your session.

How You Receive Your Digital Images

Following your portrait session, I retouch your images. These are completed in 10-12 business days. You receive a password protected and private gallery that is available to you for immediate download and sharing of your images. Your final gallery will give instructions on how to select the prints that come in your collection. If you are interested in additional products, we may set up an ordering appointment.

Additional Helpful Newborn Session Details:

• I provide all props, accessories, and items for your session. You just bring the baby.
• Studio is located in NW Houston near Barker Cypress & 290 -20 minutes outside the 610 loop
• Sessions take place in the first 14 days of life; my preference is 4-10 days, however.
• Sessions take place 7 days per week, starting at 10 AM
• Collections include high resolution digital files for you to download, share and enjoy
• I am fully vaccinated and insured. I also am formally trained in the custom art of newborn photography and have taken several workshops on newborn handling and safety in additional to professional training for posing, lighting, styling and post processing of your images.

The  session process is simple: you arrive, I photograph the session, retouch the images, and then 10 business days later you receive a private gallery in which you may immediately download and share your gorgeous images! They’re yours to print, share online, etc. Your loved ones may also download the images, too. This is a great option for grandparents who may not live in Houston. I do offer professional prints/products if you’re interested in them, but there is no minimum order. I provide a stress free, easy going experience for new parents.

My Houston Newborn & Baby Portrait Studio is located in Northwest Harris County near 290/Barker Cypress with convenient access to all major highways including 610 loop, U.S. 59, U.S. 90, U.S. 290, Texas 99, Texas 146, Texas 225, Texas 249, Texas 288, Hardy Toll Road, Westpark Tollway and Beltway 8. As a professional newborn photographer, my sessions take place 7 days per week between the hours of 9 AM - 4 PM.
