Welcome to my studio! I am excited to see you’ve stopped by to take a tour and see more information. Located in lovely Houston, TX, my studio caters to posed newborn, baby, family, or maternity photography. You’ll find everything you need for gorgeous photographs! From swoon-worthy textiles, studio wardrobe, organic wraps, handmade bonnet, and bows, ethereal lighting, and vintage-inspired props, it’s all here – just for you! Again, welcome!

SARAH’S STUDIO AND OFFICE FEATURE THE FOLLOWING CHARACTERISTICS:

• 1,300 square feet inside the 610 loop in the River Oaks/Uptown neighborhood of Houston

• Portraiture appointments are available seven days per week.

• Ample surface parking, security guards, and an on-site eatery

• Lifestyle room features all the gorgeous textures + earth tones

• Posed newborn room with comfortable seating, so grandparents are welcome

• Private mothers room for nursing and feeding

• Lobby and children’s playroom

• Prop room filled with hundreds of custom and luxury baby items for breathtaking and unique sessions

  OPTION TO ADD AIRBRUSH MAKEUP AND ARTISTRY TO ALL PORTRAIT PACKAGES

  • The studio has partnered with a top-notch professional hair styling and airbrush makeup artist, Annie Williams. Services are available as an add-on to all portrait packages. Our preferred vendor provides on-location services at our studio or, if you prefer, your home.

  • STUDIO HOURS & 6 DAYS PER WEEK AVAILABILITY:

    Studio sessions, consultations, and gown fittings occur during the hours below. Sarah and Kevin are a husband and wife team with seven days/week availability. Sundays are no longer available as our studio's commercial office building is located within stopped offering air conditioning on Sundays in response to COVID-19.

  • M-F from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

  • Saturday 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 pm

  • Sunday: Closed

    OUTDOOR, ON-LOCATION PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY HOURS

  • Outdoor sessions (maternity or family) are scheduled outside studio hours at sunrise and 30 minutes before sunset. Due to the tentative nature of outdoor sessions, these occur at different times throughout the year. Would you please e-mail directly, as our online calendar is for studio appointments only?

  • We offer ten outdoor appointments per month. Each parent receives three dates they select; one is set for our photography session, and then you’re offered two separate dates in case of emergencies, poor weather, illness, or something outside your control. All outdoor sessions receive three dates in case of rain, emergencies, or a natural-disasters which is why we offer ten appointments per month.

    • We offer ten outdoor appointments per month. If weekends are your preference, please consider booking as early as possible.

• Update as of 4-2-2021: twin newborn photography sessions are available M-F between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

• As of April 2021, studio visits and tours are available to booked clients only. A booked client means you have commissioned our services by signing your online portraiture agreement, selecting your package, and fulfilling the $100 deposit. Because of COVID-19, we can no longer have more than one client in our studio at a time. The Wood Walls & posed newborn room.

There are (3) custom-designed wood walls created for me by my husband in our Uptown newborn photography studio. He is my biggest supporter! He spent about 50 hours on this project, from purchasing the wood, sanding, curating the wood stains, and assembling. He used a blow torch and many other tools to create texture and unusual characteristics about the walls. The wood walls accompany prop setups, such as when Baby is gently nestled into a bucket, bowl, crate, or basket.

Lifestyle Room

The lifestyle room caters to natural light with floor-to-ceiling windows creating the dreamiest photographs for family, maternity, or infant setups, such as siblings and more. The lifestyle room is beautiful and the perfect place for a portraiture session. This room is something I am so excited to share with you and capture during our time together in our Uptown newborn photography studio. Lobby and Playroom

The playroom and lobby are designed to be a comfortable waiting area for families. The cabinet features toys for younger siblings to peruse. Cozy, girly, and chic! Decorating this portion of the studio was such a joy for me. I spent copious hours in Pier One, Home Goods, At Home, and also Target! My sweet husband, Kevin, was so kind as to put everything together and see my vision.

CLASSIC, RUSTIC, AND NATURAL DESIGNS & STYLING

Inside the studio, you'll find a prop room filled with a significant variety of floor props inspired by all things classic, rustic, and natural. These timeless pieces accent the sessions. Examples include harvest buckets, wooden crates, natural woven baskets, perfect wire-rimmed baskets, custom-made newborn photography beds, galvanized buckets, vintage picnic baskets, plus more! Hues include jewel tones, neutrals, muted colors, pastels, or more. All are available to you.

Mothers Room

The mothers' room is designed for new moms to have a quiet place to feed Baby, relax, or pump with privacy. Here you may also have a few moments of peace to yourself. You’re welcome to bring a favorite book, peruse Wifi, or even have a cup of tea.

Gorgeous Wraps and Textiles | color & neutrals

Chunky knit layers in various colors such as earth tones, vibrant color schemes, or classic boy/girl combinations are readily available to you. The organization makes my type-A heart happy! Walking into the prop room is an absolute joy as I adore everything being entirely in place. I cannot express how much I love showing the props to parents, too. You’re welcome to visit before our session together and show me colors that make you swoon!

I also have a large stash of organic and light hand-dyed cheesecloth wraps in the most lovely colors! Other options you'll find are precious newborn sized pillows and blankets made from antique quilts. 

Houston is a diverse city, and there is something for everyone! Cool neutrals, all the shades of grey, jewel tones, pastels, or even luxurious and vibrant hues.

Adorable Bonnets and Hats

Above, you may see an image of the hundreds of darling hats and headbands you’ll find in my prop stash. Hand-crafted, luxury caps, hats, and bonnets make for cuteness galore! These showcase the stunning features of a newborn baby's face: their chubby cheeks, bee-stung lips, and tufts of hair look precious framed by a darling hat.

Adorning darling babies in the sweetest, timeless props set their gallery apart. Crafted hypoallergenic and organic materials are best for babies' sensitive skin.

Dainty Tie Backs & Delicate Pieces | Hand-Made Props

I love to style your baby with the most lovely and feminine props such as tiebacks, floral crowns, halos, and bows. There is always a matching wrap, accessory, and textiles to complement these pieces. Every color can be found along with multiple textures, too! See below for just a few types of options you may expect.

Motherhood Wardrobe | Curated Client Closet Just For You

2024 Updated Studio Wardrobe for Family, Siblings, Parents, and Motherhood | What to Wear 

• The studio offers a client closet you may utilize for any of your photoshoots. A studio wardrobe is included in all packages for your use.

• Motherhood wardrobe features close to 300 dresses in sizes small through 2XL.

• For Dad, a small wardrobe features shirts and sweaters for your use in sizes small-large.

• For brother, shirts and sweaters are also available.

• Sister wardrobe features adorable dresses and simple tops.

• Infant wardrobe for both girls and boys is available from newborn - to 24 months.

• Please bring a nude bra and a strapless bra if interested in-studio wardrobe for motherhood wardrobe. A camisole is also helpful if you'd like more coverage. If you're a maternity client, feel free to bring a pretty bra or panty set of your choice for mothers interested in intimate, boudoir-style maternity photos. You may also do an oversized sweater, boy shorts, etc. There's no obligation; many moms like to do something a little more modern/contemporary.

• Please stick to neutrals, earth tones, and muted colors for siblings and Dad. Dad and Brother should wear jeans or khaki pants, and we can add a studio shirt if you wish. If you're bringing clothing from home, Avoid neon colors. Orange, yellow, bright greens, or pinks are not favorable. The colors that photograph well are light grey, tans, creams, white, and ivory. Seafoam, navy, mauve, and colors of this sort are lovely, too! Earthtones are beautiful because they photograph well on skin tone; they refer to natural colors such as brown soil, green leaf, cloudy sky, and red sun. Examples of earth tones we love to see are rust, marigold, deep navy, burnt sienna brown, terracotta, sage, turmeric, hunter green, and more.

• Ideas for Dad: simple button-up, henley shirt, sweater, v-neck, anything without a distracting pattern or neon colors. Slacks, dark wash jeans and simple are best.

• Children look lovely in knits, simple cotton dresses, sweaters, jeans, or khaki pants with a solid or neutral-colored top.

Expect to see various tones, textures, and fabrics, all of which are curated to photograph beautifully. We offer diverse options such as, but not limited to, neutrals, grey, ivory, creams, whites, and muted colors and nudes, although there are colorful options. Jewel tones and classic black make an appearance, too. Complimentary gown fittings are welcome. These are available in sizes small through extra-large. An ample sister wardrobe is a new addition, also! Available in sizes three months - 8-T. At this time, our closet includes over 200 dresses. We also offer complimentary gown fittings, so you may visit in advance to look throughout the client's wardrobe. We also have a handful of Dad tops in case of emergencies, though, upon booking, a prep guide is provided. Hence, you have a great idea of what Dad should wear for his portion of the photoshoot.
