Greetings, friends! Howdy to you! Thanks for stopping by to see this super sweet baby session featuring an adorable family. They came to my studio when baby girl, named Emily, was 9 days old.

For my time with this family, we focused on all things sweet and simple; as always, I use a plethora of gorgeous wrapping to reflect the womblike posing I adore. I also pulled many vintage props because they create a classic tone. I'm inspired by textiles, texture, and creating stunning art pieces of your most precious love: your brand new baby.

Here are my favorite images of my time with Emily! She slept like a champ - this is a dream for a newborn photographer! All babies are different and some like to sleep more than others; however, I do provide you with a detailed prep guide so you're told how to ensure baby has a great session. The prep guide also tells you what will happen so you're never in the dark during your session. It's a privilege to document your baby so I want you to have a fun time.

Caroline Lucy's Plum & Mauve Session | Houston Newborn & Family Session

Fresh, Pure and Timeless Newborn Baby + Family Photography near Jersey Village. Welcome Baby Girl at 9 days new.

Good morning, everyone! Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope you're gearing up for an exciting weekend as today is Thursday. I have a newborn coming in this morning so I am pretty excited about that since they're my specialty; however, before baby arrives at my studio I am looking forward to sharing one of the latest in studio newborn + family portraiture sessions I had the honor of documenting.

This adorable family visited my all white, organic studio, located in Houston, when baby was just around 8 days old. Her name is Caroline and she weighs 7 pounds. She has beautiful, full lips and the cutest little profile ever. Sweet little feet, button nose, and long fingers - truly a beauty! 

Her parents chose my "petite" collection which is a great newborn option because this session features a variety of custom set ups such as family images, baby with Mom, baby with Dad, (2) floor props, and (2) bean bag drops. I also do macro images, too, which are the detailed shots of your baby's features such as their fingernails, eyelashes, lips, etc. I like doing these because you spent 9 months dreaming of their face and imagining holding baby in your arms. A newborn portraiture collection is the perfect way celebrate this incredibly special time in your life. 

For family and parent images, I like the posing to be very laid back and connected; while it's nice to have a few of everyone looking "perfectly" at the camera, as a Houston mama to three little girls, I can tell you some of my most treasured images of my children are lifestyle in nature. This is where you naturally interact with little one. While I do give plenty of direction, I like to encourage you and your spouse to be who you are. Smile, laugh, play - talk about your favorite aspects of baby. Sometimes I also ask the parents to think about the first time they saw baby's heart beat at their doctor's appointment. This truly evokes a sense of wonder and genuine, authentic emotion.

After the family portion of your newborn session, we move onto baby's individual shots. I always begin with wrapped set ups since this makes baby feel very safe, secure and happy. They adore being wrapped because this emulates the environemnt of the womb; they spent 9 months growing in 98.6 degrees, so my studio is also kept at a cozy 80 degrees to ensure baby is comfortable. I also play white noise so that baby sleeps soundly. This environemtn fosters the perfect newborn session because baby's happiness is kept forefreont at all times. 

Her macro images of profile and lips are super cute! And this adorable knitted hat was given to me by one of my favorite vendors who makes most of my props. The plum set up truly makes baby skin's glow and she had a stunning tone to her. I also typically use darker, rich and vibrant color schemes since these look best against babies. I am not a fan of pastels since baby blends into the softer or muted neutrals. 

For Caroline's floor props, I selected an antique, rustic bucket and also a vintage wooden cradle. These are some of my favorite props because they look awesome with a boy or girl; depending on how you style baby, you're sure to receive a variety of looks with simplistic props. Moreover, vintage inspired props reflect a timeless atmosphere and you're able to ensure the photos will forever look classic. I am a huge fan of simplistic images because they're fresh, pure and genuine; they allow your baby to shine. By removing many distracting props, your baby will forever be preserved and the star of the photos. I provide all props and styling to ensure the photos reflect my tastes and branding. Consistency is key for me.

One Week Old Baby Girl | Pink & Spring Inspired Fresh Floral Session

Fresh, Pure and Gorgeous Newborn Photography in the Greater Houston Area | Welcome Baby Girl

Howdy! Happy Monday to you! I've just finished up a super adorable studio session, so I am at my desk working on edits, contracts, e-mails and of course a blog post showcasing one of the sweetest little ladies I've had in front of my camera! So, if this your first time here you should know my name is Sarah and I'm located in beautiful Houston TX. Yes: that's right - Texas can be pretty in it's own way, haha! My studio is located specifically in the NW area. This is where I photograph all things newborn and it makes my soul sing! Working with my most petite clients is an absolute joy! 

For today's session, I featuring a few of my favorite images from Baby L's full newborn session. Full newborn sessions are a great option for parents who are seeking a little bit of everything from classic and vintage inspired floor props, stunning wrapping of your little cherub, up close macro details of their precious features, and of course sweet, organic and curly posing of them as they're adorned in adorable bonnets and tieback headbands. 

Precious baby L came for a posed newborn session when she was 9 days new and about 6 pounds. 

While I normally use a lot of jewel tones or perhaps richer, vibrant colors, this sweet mama truly wanted a soft, feminine and dainty portrait session reflecting muted pastel tones and even some amazing fresh florals! I have to admit: there's something novel in the idea of a new baby wearing fresh flowers as an adorable crown. I pulled inspiration from my many props and decided on rose pink, cream, ivory, mint, sea foam and antique floor props, seen above.

Being held in Dad's arms is ever so cozy! I like these two poses because they're masculine, yet also tender. They'll always remind you of the time in which baby was so fresh, new and petite that she fit perfectly in your hands. So sweet. 

With this beautiful mama, I posed her so that baby feels close and she can be connected with little one.
